from the ffanciful ffingertips of ssister ssheffer

The new year brings a change in the lives of everyone, but mostly it means we write a three at the end of the year instead of a two. The parties of the eve echo into the morning hours, then the resolutions begin.

This year I will do better at this, or this year I will become  . . . Those are all very important, but I find that my year goals are lost amidst the movement of time.

So, how can I change that? I think this year I will focus on planning. Sister Richards is a very good planner. I on the other hand have much to do.

When it comes to goals I have found that there are three different steps that need to happen to make it happen!

1. I need to tell people what it is.

2. I need to plan (yes there is that word again)

3. I need to be diligent in carrying out that plan

Preach My Gospel is a wonderful book that anyone who is alive should read. :)

It has a section all about time management with the idea that we need to be balanced, in that section there is a part about setting goals.

So, here is my goal: I want to run a 5k on July 4th. Now I have told all of you (feel free to give me support/hold me accountable)

My plan is to jog every morning with my wonderful companion (who is Sister Richards right now) except on Sundays of course.

Finally, I will need to carry that plan out, I can't let things stop me!!

I have many other goals, but the main thing that I am working at right now is to balance, I feel like I am stronger spiritually and mentally than I am physically and I know that when I am off balance in any of these areas I struggle and that is something that can happen to anyone.

I pray that this is a year that I will be able to use to come closer to my Savior Jesus Christ because He is the most balanced person that has ever lived and if I am working/playing (I like the sound of playing better than working. . .) to be more like Him I know that I will never be going the wrong way.

I am so excited for the future to come! May the Lord bless ya'll and keep ya'll!

In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
